The loved ones of young people lost after a tragic fire at a venue in a Swiss alpine town are confronting an painful period of uncertainty for official news and pleading for clues about their loved ones via social media.

The inferno ripped through the Le Constellation bar in the alpine resort, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Verified footage reveal the ceiling being engulfed in flames as beverages with sparklers are raised in celebration.

Officials have indicated that it could take days if not weeks to formally name the victims of the disaster, which resulted in the death of four dozen individuals and injured another over a hundred. Authorities said on the latest update that the majority of the those hurt have been accounted for, with the process continuing to name the other six.

In the meantime, relatives have been using social media to appeal for any news about their loved ones who were present at the venue that evening.

Appeals for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of teenager from Switzerland Arthur Brodard, sixteen, are not yet determined, according to an heartfelt request from his parent.

The resident of a town near Lausanne, told a local newspaper that she had returned to Lausanne to see if he was in the medical facility, while his other parent did the same in the capital, but did not locate him.

"It feels like a terrible dream, a nightmare. Either I find my son in the morgue, or I find him in critical condition. It's horrific," she stated.

She added that some of his friends had been located with burns covering a significant portion of their bodies. "There are no words; they experienced hell."

The Italy's government has indicated that six of its nationals have not been located.

Among them is Emanuele Galeppini, a 16-year-old promising athlete, originally from Genoa but now living in Dubai.

The national sporting body has said that he is deceased, without mentioning the fire, paying tribute to a "young athlete who represented passion and authentic values."

His father, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around midnight. An official spokesperson has clarified that a official announcement of his death is awaited.

Additional Missing Individuals

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also unaccounted for. His mother said that he had been on holiday but had gone out with friends and found himself at the venue.

"Someone with him told me they ran away after the fire broke out and that he had his mobile with him, but then at a specific moment he couldn't see him anymore," she said, adding he had been wearing a identifiable gold chain.

One of his educators commented, "I remember his kindness and smile, combined with great maturity. Every time offer to help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds dual Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives permanently in Switzerland, was also present on that night, according to reports.

Her sibling has shared an urgent request on social media, saying the relatives has had "no information" regarding the 15-year-old or the group she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her other nation say they are continuing to monitor the case.
