Barça to Host Inaugural Game at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

The club confirmed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. The club will host the Basque side in the Spanish league two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

The stadium will not be at full capacity with 45,401 fans can be present under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel along with upgraded changing facilities.

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou on 7 November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture facing Eintracht on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
