It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, those for the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy being given a chance to produce her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India temporarily stopped the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this newest brilliant performance topped that previous effort can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting championship match pressure. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when facing a record target and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 came as she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I lacked timing at all," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your fighting spirit take over and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and an invaluable trait in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the right-hander was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and lock in a contest with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her fastest at the World Cup - and her hundred in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, scoring 21 fours and three sixes.

By the time she was removed Australia needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, if necessary, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has become more firm - this triumph following victory over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

However although she afterwards confessed those injuries have delayed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
