Plant-Based Cooking in Portugal

This sun-drenched cooking retreat, located at a riverside villa in the inland Algarve, is inspired by the vegetarian dishes of renowned chefs. Guests will learn to produce selection of small dishes, attend a falafel-making workshop, perfect brunch dishes such as shakshuka, and make hearty mains including spicy mushroom ragu and moussaka. There are visits to the local market and a nearby winery to taste local vintages, plus leisure time for walks by the nearby river, to unwind on the deck or take a dip in the infinity pool. Street Dance in Buckinghamshire

Hip Hop Don’t Stop is an energizing, welcoming weekend dance intensive for adults in High Wycombe. The format throughout the camp is a party-style warm-up session, followed by three 90-minute classes teaching different street dance styles, then an 60-minute jam to show off new moves. Participants are split into levels according to ability and experience, so it is suitable for those who are brand new to popping and locking, all the way to experienced performers or teachers. The camp does not provide lodging but there are a number of places to stay nearby, and it is 23-35 minutes by train into central London.

Sea Shanty Weekend in Cornwall

This coastal town is the ideal location for a maritime music retreat. Participants will learn traditional shanties from a folk singer and vocal coach, and try their hand at composing original ones. The schedule includes vocal warmups, breathing exercises, performance tips and a closing performance. The retreat is based at a rural hotel overlooking the bay. Full board are provided, including a traditional tea on the first day, breakfast options, packed lunches and three-course dinners. Traditional rum, unfortunately, is not provided. Author and lecturer Greg Mosse conducts the daily workshops on this authors' getaway. He covers topics including plot, character development, locations and suspense, to submitting work to agents. The retreat is based at a village-style hotel in Vamos at the base of the Lefka Ori – 10 private accommodations surround a central garden with a pool (companions are welcome to share).
